Here’s a neat little productivity hack…

Did you know that work expands to the time allotted to it?

What does that mean?

It means this:

If you give yourself two weeks to take on a project, it’s likely going to take you two weeks to do it.

And if you’re anything like me, it’ll take you none of the first 13 days and the majority of the last one.

That’s just how I roll.

BUT — if you give yourself only one day to complete the project, you bet your sweet ass you’ll figure out how to get it done.

For example:

When I started writing these articles, I gave myself only 30 minutes to complete them. And not only write them, but also publish and share them, too.

Then I let it get away from me a little bit.

I started allowing myself more time to get them done.

And you wanna know what happened?

My articles were the same length. They were the same quality. They were the same in almost every way.

There was no real difference between a 30 minute article and one that took me 2 hours (even though there should be).

The same amount of work expanded to the time allotted to it.

What does this mean for you?

It means when you have something to do, give yourself a much shorter deadline to get it done. And then do your best to stick to that deadline no matter what.

What you’ll find is that your work gets done faster — and the quality virtually stays the same!

How’s that for a good deal?

Try it out and see for yourself. It’s one of the easiest ways to increase productivity and get more shit done!

Halt right there!

If you enjoyed this article, why not show it some love or share your thoughts below? Either way, you’re awesome & I appreciate you reading 😊
