Don’t Feel Like Showing Up Today? This Might Change Your Mind

It’s certainly changing mine

Today, I don’t want to write an article.

Which, in fact, is entirely okay.

I don’t have to want to — but I do have to do it.

Why? Simple.

I told myself I would.

I made a commitment to myself to get it done.

I promised and proclaimed I would write and publish every day.

And I will.

I’ll keep that promise.

Come hell or high water, I will get it done.

Even when I don’t want to.

Because here’s the cold, hard truth about it:

Every promise I keep to myself is a coal that helps my flame burn brighter.

And every promise I break is another I take away.

Take away too many and I lose the fire altogether.

But if I continue adding them, those flames become eternal.

I don’t ever want to lose that fire.

And I don’t ever want you to lose it, either.

Look, I know what it’s like to not want to follow through.

I know what it’s like to start something and not finish it.

I also know what it’s like to not be congruent with my own word — to tell myself one thing and then do another.

But doing that has never served me.

And if we’re being honest here, I doubt it’s ever served you, either.

So ask yourself:

“What promises have I made to myself? And what must I do today to follow through on them?”

Then, no matter how much you dislike the answer…

Do it.

Make it happen.

Get it done.

Follow through.

Because letting your flame burn out should never be an option.

But if you don’t keep adding coals to your fire…

It will.

Morning person? Night owl?

Either way, there’s an untapped fortune lying hidden in your schedule. If you’re finally ready to discover it, click right here and I’ll show you how.
