Remove this and everything changes

Believe it or not, the only thing standing between you and a life you love is your own limiting beliefs.

Limiting beliefs around your worthiness.

Limiting beliefs around your deservingness.

Limiting beliefs around your own capability to improve and reach for something more.

When you remove these limiting beliefs, things start moving and picking up speed. But when you harbor them and keep them close, you give them permission to hold you back from becoming a better you.

The solution is to identify each belief and then find evidence to prove them wrong.

What do I mean by this?

How do you prove a limiting belief wrong?

Last week, our car broke down at a campground hours away from home. We had no choice but to get it towed back to our house, where it sat in the driveway dead as can be.

“We’ll never be able to fix her. It’s time to look for a new car.”

At the time, I couldn’t see any other solution to the problem.

But did you catch what I said?

We’ll never be able to fix her.

It took me a little while to realize this was just another limiting belief rearing its ugly head.

Why couldn’t we fix the car?

And why couldn’t I be the one to do it?

The only person who said it was impossible was me.

So you know what I did?

I decided to prove myself wrong.

I decided to try everything I could to get the car going again. And if I couldn’t do it myself, then I would throw in the towel and accept defeat. But I wasn’t giving up before that.

So I researched and tinkered and toiled galore. I pulled things apart, got dirty, and put it all back together.

And guess what?

I did it!

I got the car working again.

I turned my can’t into a can and permanently removed my limiting belief in the process.

And that’s exactly what you should do, too.

Whenever you tell yourself you can’t do something, that’s the first sign of a limiting belief. What you need to do is recognize the limiting belief and then try to prove it wrong.

And you do that by asking yourself these questions:

— Why can’t I do this?
— Has anyone ever done this before?
— What would it take for me to try?
— What do I have to lose?

Oftentimes, what you’ll find is that your excuses can’t handle the pressure of scrutiny. Limiting beliefs crumble in the face of any evidence that proves them wrong.

So find that evidence.

SEEK that evidence.

Accept defeat only when you have to.

The more you do this, the more you’ll come to understand how capable you really are. And every time you remove a limiting belief, you replace it with confidence that you can do MORE.

Soon enough you’ll realize there are no limitations.

There are only the limiting beliefs that you convince yourself are true.

Halt right there!
