The Journey Begins
We’ll greet you when we get there
Let it be known.
Today is the day our lives will change forever.
And I don’t mean that as a cliché.
Far, far from it, actually.
No, TODAY is the day our adventure begins.
The culmination of our preparation and our planning.
To say I’m excited is an understatement.
And to say I’m afraid is flat-out wrong.
I’m not afraid of this anymore.
I’m not trepidatious of it, either.
I’m leaning in fully, with the full support of my family behind me.
Nothing can stop us.
We’re untouchable.
We’re invincible.
And yes, we’re fucking amazing.
I know this doesn’t make much sense to you. It will.
I know I’m being vague and unclear. It’s intentional.
If you know what’s happening, you know.
If you don’t know what’s happening, that’s okay.
The train will leave the station anyway.
There’s a famous Chinese proverb that states:
“The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”
I agree.
But I would also add that it begins with an intention.
A desire.
A yearning to explore.
And when many share that yearning together…
A great and wonderful adventure is born.
In some ways, this is goodbye.
In many others, it’s hello.
So hello, and goodbye.
