You did it.

You managed to get yourself out of bed.

You went to the bathroom, drank a glass of water, and are now ready to get started with your morning routine.

If you tuned in to yesterday’s article, you’ll know the first part of a successful and empowering morning routine is movement.

Yoga, body weight exercises, running — it doesn’t matter. What’s important is that you get the body moving right away so you can wake everything up.

Problem is…

Exercising first thing in the morning is…. well… a drag.

Most people would rather watch paint dry.

Luckily for you, there’s an ancient technique that’s been used for thousands of years that’ll (1) cover all your bases and (2) not require too much of your (practically non-existent) morning energy.

And that ancient technique is called…

The Five Tibetan Rites.

Or “The Five Rites”… “The Five Tibetans”… “The Five Rites of Rejuvenation”… and even “The Fountain of Youth.”

It’s a system of exercises that’s been reported to be more than 2,500 years old. Practising them consistently is thought to increase both mobility and flexibility, and also help the body stay nimble as we age.

Some other reported benefits of the Five Tibetan Rites include:

  • Increased Energy
  • Feelings of calmness
  • Mental clarity
  • Greater spinal flexibility
  • Better sleep
  • Weight loss
  • Healthier digestion
  • An improved libido
  • And a ho’ lot more

Best part?

They’re easy — and they can all be completed within 10 minutes.

They’re the perfect exercises for a morning routine. They don’t require too much energy. They make you feel empowered. You’ll feel loose and nimble and alive after doing them. And over time, you’ll start to crave the exercises as soon as you get out of bed. Your body will ask for them, and you’ll be happy to oblige.

So, how do you do them?

To demonstrate, let me pass the torch over to Tim van der Vliet, who made a wonderful video about the Five Rites and how to perform them correctly.

This is the same video I used to learn the exercises — and if you watch it, I suspect you’ll have no problem learning them, as well.

Take it away, Tim.

Easy enough, right?

And now that you have the 1st part of your morning routine covered, it’s time to move on to step #2. This is where we’ll strengthen the mind and center ourselves for the day ahead.

And that, my friend, is exactly where we’ll start tomorrow.

Until then, happy drinking from the “Fountain of Youth.”

Halt right there!
